Crafted in a medley of Black, Red and White Urushi Lacquers produced in Japan; raw lacquers and Nashiji lacquers; various grades of pure Gold powder, Hirame Gold powder, Great Green Turban shell and silver-lipped Pearl Oyster Shell; this bold statement of straight lines and circles is very intricately crafted in Maki-e. The skill of the Maki-e Shi is evident in the expert use of attaching Aogai shells.
