The Abode of the Auspicious Ganesha

AP Limited Editions celebrates the Hindu God Ganesha and his grand lineage in a fabulous Maki-e Art feature crafted with reverence and devotion. The mighty elephant headed Ganesha is serenaded by the Himalaya mountains as he pays respect to his parents Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Seated beside his parents is his younger brother Lord Kartikeya, also known as the God of Martial Arts and War. Legend describes an interesting race that took place between the two brothers to see who could circumambulate the world the fastest. While Lord Kartikeya sped on his vehicle, a peacock to zip across the far reaches of the globe; Lord Ganesha simply circumambulated his parents, ‘his world’; and was deemed the winner. This story extols the virtue of service and gratitude to one’s parents.
