The Wish Granting Cow is taken from childhood memories and grandmother tales that I had heard. The actual imagery is inspired by an original painting I have seen in a museum in India.

The cow has a special significance in Indian mythology and is considered to be bestowed with divine powers. Kamdhenu, the wish granting cow was coveted by Gods and Goddesses as she manifested to her owner whatever he desired. As a living symbol of mother earth, the cow is incomplete without her calves and continues to be sacred to Hindus. She is bountiful and the bestower of all that is auspicious, bringing prosperity to the home that she is received in.
